Hello! My name is Ananya Gupta and I’m a PhD student from Nepal pursuing Human-Centered Computing at Clemson University. My name is Ananya Gupta, and I am originally from Nepal. I am currently pursuing Ph.D. in the Department of Human-Centered Computing at Clemson University. My research interests include usable privacy and security in online social media networks, natural language processing (NLP), sentiment analysis, social media post translation, UX design, and UX research. I have 2+ years of experience in conducting research using survey, interview, experimental design methods. I also have good experience of statistical data analysis using R.
My intern project is about building a Nepali dictionary for the HPCC Systems to build a foundation for doing NLP in Nepali. This is an initiative that I pioneered with the determination to convert Nepal from a low-resourced/minority language into a rich-resourced language in the field of NLP. This Nepali dictionary will not only be a foundation for me but also for all Nepali language enthusiasts to do NLP in Nepali. I am using ECL cloud services, VisualText, and NLP++ to build a Nepali dictionary and parse wikitext to conduct an analysis of the words to find their meaning.
The long-term goal of this project is to invite and unite all NLP and Nepali language enthusiasts together and add all Nepali words to Wiktionary from available online dictionaries so that it can be a great resource and foundation for Nepali language researchers.
Hobbies
